About me
I turn ambiguity into alignment — and I’ve been doing it for 6+ years across five companies, three industries, and every kind of stakeholder you can imagine.
The version that matters
I started with a Computer Science degree from Government College University, Lahore — not because I wanted to write code, but because I wanted to understand how systems think. That technical foundation is what makes me different as a BA and PO: I can sit in an engineering meeting and follow it, challenge it, and translate it back to business stakeholders without anything getting lost.
Over six years I’ve worked on SaaS integrations at Exalate, built HR-tech platforms at Giant Group, managed enterprise fleet and security systems at ISB Global and Systems Limited, and delivered software projects at Arhamsoft. The common thread across all of it: I was the person who sat between what the business wanted and what the engineering team could build — and made sure both sides understood each other.
I don’t hand off. Discovery, requirements, UX, backlog ownership, stakeholder management — I stay across the whole lifecycle. That’s not a claim; it’s what my experience actually looks like.

Experience
Business Analyst — Exalate · Oct 2023 – Mar 2026
Exalate is a SaaS integration platform used by global engineering and product teams to sync issues across Jira, GitHub, Zendesk, and other tools.
- Led end-to-end business analysis for integration workflows across 5+ enterprise clients, translating complex cross-platform requirements into structured feature specifications.
- Designed and documented OAuth and REST API integration flows, bridging the gap between client business needs and engineering implementation.
- Facilitated discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews that cut average requirements-to-development handoff time significantly.
- Created detailed data mapping documents and use case libraries that became the team’s reference standard for new client onboardings.
Business Analyst / Product Owner — Giant Group · 2022 – 2023
HR-tech platform serving enterprise clients across the Middle East and South Asia.
- Owned the product backlog for a multi-module HR platform — payroll, attendance, leave management, and employee self-service — across two active development squads.
- Ran bi-weekly sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions, keeping delivery aligned with shifting business priorities without derailing engineering velocity.
- Produced user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams that reduced back-and-forth between business and engineering by establishing shared definitions upfront.
- Conducted user research with HR managers and employees that surfaced three high-impact usability gaps, leading to a redesign of the leave request workflow.
Business Analyst — ISB Global · 2021 – 2022
Enterprise fleet management and logistics platform serving government and commercial clients.
- Gathered and documented requirements for real-time vehicle tracking, route optimisation, and driver management modules across multiple client deployments.
- Created BRDs and functional specifications that served as the contractual baseline between client and delivery team, reducing scope disputes post-sign-off.
- Coordinated UAT sessions with client stakeholders, logged defects, and tracked resolution through to sign-off — managing the full feedback loop without project manager intervention.
Business Analyst — Systems Limited · 2020 – 2021
One of Pakistan’s largest enterprise software and IT services companies, serving financial, telecom, and public sector clients.
- Supported business analysis for enterprise security and access control systems — gathering requirements from client IT and security teams and translating them into technical specifications for the engineering team.
- Documented AS-IS and TO-BE process flows to support system migration projects, helping clients visualise change impact before implementation.
- Produced training documentation and user manuals for delivered systems, reducing post-go-live support queries from end users.
Junior Business Analyst — Arhamsoft · 2018 – 2020
Software development company delivering custom web and mobile applications for clients across e-commerce, healthcare, and education.
- Assisted in requirements gathering and documentation for 6+ client projects across e-commerce, healthcare, and education verticals.
- Created wireframes and basic UX flows in collaboration with designers, learning to translate user interviews into visual product concepts.
- Maintained project documentation and meeting notes, developing the habit of building a shared understanding in writing rather than leaving decisions in verbal agreements.

“Zareen translated our ideas into detailed, actionable requirements that the development team could execute with confidence. She asked the right questions at the right time — and the questions she asked early saved us weeks of rework later.”
